Chattue (TurtleCat) by Joseph Simas & Reinhard Trinkler

Chattue is the improbable fable of a love story between a turtle and a cat in a land fraught with danger and surprise. It is the setting for an ecological war between quite a few curious animals and a number of very odd human beings. “ A quirky, charming animal fable whose unlikely hero, Turtle, nourishes and protects a heterogeneous world uniting mammals, insects, and reptiles alike against bellicose humans, who threaten this utopia-seeking society. An allegory about the futility of war and the possibilities of a kinder, gentler, more ‘animal’ future.” Anne E. Duggan is Co-Editor at Marvels & Tales: Journal of Fairy-Tale Studie ( http://digitalcommons.wayne.edu/marvels/ ) and Director of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at Wayne State University.
