Psychopathology of Everyday Life was written in 1901, six years after Sigmund Freud's first book, Interpretation of Dreams , published in November 1899. Peter Gay, author of a biographical introduction of Freud on "Introductory Lectures on Psycho-Analysis" (Northon & Company, New York, 1966, p. xiv), wrote: "Its collections of appealing slips of all sorts made Freud's fundamental point that the mind, however disheveled it might appear, is governed by firm rules.[...] Gradually, though still considered a radical, Freud acquired prestige and supporters. [...] Yet in 1902, after unconscionable delays, apparently generated by anti-Semitism combined with distrust of maverick innovator, he was finally appointed an associate professor at the University of Vienna"... This is the italian version of Psychopathology of Everyday Life.
