This text is a philosophical pleading for a critical agnosticism, which tries to forge a bridge from epistemological considerations (radical constructivists, Popper, Putnam etc.) to sociopolitical positions. It is important to read the annotation within the foot/end-notes too. Unfortunately the Internet Archive website creates additional files itself, which are more or less impaired. Use original files. Read the information about file formats (TEXT > File_Format_Explanation.txt). You can download a ZIP-folder (9.4MB) with all original files. Scroll a little bit down for the link at the right side below "SHOW ALL": "40 Original" (most of them are only tiny font files within the html folder).
