The two volumes were to be issued as publications of a projected society, the "Hercules club" whose labors were to clear the field for the future historian, of the errors that infest it; it appears never to have been fully inaugurated. The volumes were therefore simply issued as privately printed books as no one but Mr. Henry Stevens had any hand in their production. cf. "Explanatory" prefixed to the work, signed Henry N.
