Edison Standard Index. Part two of Duane Deakins' "Comprehensive Index of Cylinder Records". Self published ca. 1959. This publication indexes Edison's output of wax cylinders 1898-1912, including the brown wax Edison Records ("Standard"), Gold-Moulded, and Amberol series. This isn't described in the preface, but the book is split into two sections, the first covering two minute cylinders (standard and Gold-Moulded) and the second four minute Amberol cylinders. This is described in the preface, but bears repeating: Catalog numbers 1-7014 were assigned in a 'block' system whereby sequences were reserved for an artist to fill over time. These blocks were not always fully assigned, and so this range represents less than 7,014 cylinders. Beginning with cylinder #7100 (May 1899), catalog numbers in the main series were assigned consecutively until the end of the two-minute range with #10575 (Sept. 1912). Numbering of the main series of four-minute records is also consecutive, but restarts with #1 and continues to #1149 (the cylinders themselves would have been marked with "4M", but would also have been visually distinguishable from earlier releases). Other series, such as the 5" Concert
