The Spectrophotometer (Physics of Technology Series)

A module on the spectral properties of light. Covers some aspects of both physical optics and modern physics, including wave properties of light, diffraction, dispersive elements, transmission and absorption spectra, and spectral analysis. The module also provides an introduction to the use of a spectrophotometer. Although there are no prerequisites, the prior completion of another module, such as THE SLIDE PROJECTOR or THE CAMERA, should be considered. Part of the Physics of Technology program, a 27-module introduction to physics at a pre-calculus level. The American Institute of Physics coordinated this program in the 1970s, with modules created by Florissant Valley Community College, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, the State University of New York at Binghamton, and TERC.
