High-resolution 192 kHz/24-bit lossless FLAC version of the LibriVox.org recording of the Enneads by Plotinus. The six Enneads (ΕΝΝΕΑΔΕΣ) are the collected writings of the Neoplatonic philosopher Plotinus (ΠΛΩΤΙΝΟΣ) arranged by his student Porphyry (ΠΟΡΦΥΡΙΟΣ) into fifty-four books with each Ennead containing nine. The translator Kenneth Sylvan Guthrie arranged these books chronologically rather than according to Porphyry's numeration. Roman numerals indicate the Ennead and Hindu-Arabic numerals indicate the book e.g. VI.9 would be the ninth book of the sixth Ennead. Scanned PDFs of the four volumes of the Enneads can be found on this Internet Archive page. Alternatively a hyperlinked table of contents at Volume 1 Page 3 of the https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/42930 text will enable you to jump to the specific Ennead if you wish to read along with the recording. Painting: The Angel of Death by Émile Jean-Horace Vernet, 1851. Painting: Saint Eulalia by John William Waterhouse, 1885. Currently housed at Tate Britain. Recording & Cover Designs by Geoffrey Edwards are in the Public Domain.
