Flashback 1

Flashback is another reprint zine and features comic stories drawn by Wally Wood. Published by Alan Light’s DynaPub Enterprises , issue #1 reprints some of Wood’s science fiction work at EC . The back cover states that the zine is copyright 1971 by William M. Gaines. Information gathered from the internet indicates that the cover price was $1.00 with a limited print run of 500 copies. It was "finely scanned directly from the original books to insure accurate reproduction" and was produced on "50-lb offset stock". The cover was a reproduction of a portion of the cover from Weird Science Fantasy #23 . Publications such as this were an inexpensive option for fans of EC Comics to acquire some of the material produced by the company before Russ Cochran started to offer his high quality reprints in 1978. Cochran printed material scanned from the original artwork, while the muddy reproductions offered here were taken from color comic pages.
