A volume in the On Active Service Series . Based on diary entries November 24th, 1917 to June 17 th , 1918, when the author was mainly serving in Palestine. The author’s full name is elsewhere stated to be Norman Cecil Sommers Down, and he was Captain, 14th Black Watch (229th Brigade, 74th Dismounted Yeomanry Division).
