In The Delta Saloon

In the autumn of 1989, the University of Nevada Oral History Program was informed that the American Folklife Center, a department of the Library of Congress, held in its collection numerous audio tapes recorded by Duncan Emrich in Virginia City in 1949 and 1950 about the history of Virginia City and the Comstock. Emrich did most of the recording in the cheerfully raucous surroundings of the Delta Saloon. The participants gathered at the Delta for drink, games, and conversation, and Emrich recorded them as they regaled each other with stories and song.
