This book is an English translation of the original German book of the same year: Zur Einigung der amerikanisch-lutherischen Kirche in der Lehre von der Bekehrung und Gnadenwahl : im Anschluss an die norwegischen Vereinigungssätze und deren Kritiken . Loosely translated, the actual German title reads: "To Reach Agreement in the American Lutheran Church in the Doctrines of Conversion and the Election of Grace: Following the Norwegian Articles of Agreement and their Criticisms". This book is available for page-by-page public viewing in HathiTrust , but not for whole book download. Neither is it available in Google Books. So this upload is intended to make it fully available to the public. The doctrines discussed at great length and with much history were later set down within the old Missouri Synod and accepted in 1932 as a defense against prevailing errors of other American Lutheran churches. This document is called the Brief Statement of 1932 . Pieper delivered many essays but not many books (excepting his 3-volume Christian Dogmatics ). This was a major publication in 1913 and due to its importance was immediately translated for the full use among all American Lutherans.
